NEWS: 2025

The new year has arrived and going strong! Next major event is the CPS Festival in Saint Augustine! see EVENTS for information!

OLD FRIENDS: Last Saturday night (January 24, 2026), I attended a gig where Curtis Willis was featured. He impressed me back in the early 1980’s at a talented musician and we jammed it out back then at my home in Jacksonville with parts of the Stratus band that later disbanded. The Curtis Willis Band was named after him, as he was the main “roadie,” back then as a southern rock rising faction. He didn’t exactly recall the event but he performed the gig last Saturday with ease, confidence, and professionalism. He’s still a pro at 71 and has an original CD out called “EnduranceTime Will Fly.

When we returned from this year’s tour, many distractions appeared requiring attention that has taken me from “playing out.” I plan to continue soon at a later date.

PAST NEWS: I’m back playing guitar starting January 2025. My hand operation was a complete success! I feel much more dexterity after getting rid of my Dupuytren’s Contractor inherited disease. The Doctor claims I have only a 2-3% chance of it returning! I hadn’t been able to play guitar from the 4th of July until November 2024.

So, with all that time off, restructuring my songlists, improving my equipment and sound, writing new songs and learning some new ones was in order. It feels great to be back with music on my mind and in my heart. Of course, some vendors seem to forget who you are if your not in the doorway waiting to play!

Everyone knows

I rarely see masks on faces these days. It is good feeling to be free of them. The virus played out strongly world wide and I for one feel better about it today. There was an enemy among us. Everyone knows what “they” should have done about it. Everyone knows there is no magical cure, yet! We and us will survive as I and me will pass. Everyone knows.

About Me
Sometimes life seems like a whirlwind. All of a sudden, there it is - holding all your interest - but soon goes back to dust. So it is in the life of a musician, one day the whole world seems to be watching, then in a blink of an eye, the whole world is looking somewhere else.

I’ve been told the story of the “Millwright or the Poet” and found it only too true with most musicians that were Soldiers first and musicians second. There was a point of necessity in deciding what path to choose early on in life. I chose being the Soldier. Finally, the day has come that I can be the musician.

Who knows where it will all lead. My new journey has begun and adventures await me. My intent is to share the gift of music that God has given me as I embark on this new direction He is taking me. My hope is that it will not be like a “whirlwind” and that what I do will be enjoyed by audiences for a long time.

Slowing down to finish up the second album is the current story and helping family with construction projects, granddaughter graduating HS and moving on to college, and more. It has been a exciting and time consuming. I do plan to get back out there more in the future.
